Penis Enlargement Surgery - Too Extreme to Consider
When it comes to penis enlargement, the various methods are usually pretty standard. Pumps, creams, pills, extenders, and exercises are all very common, reasonable methods of penis enlargement. Surgery, on the other hand, is the most extreme method. While surgery does definitely enlarge the penis, the gains average only one inch. And with all the risks and costs, is it really worth it?
There are two main types of penis enlargement surgery:
- The suspensory ligament, which holds some of the shaft inside the body, is cut; making more of the shaft visible and making the penis appear larger. But in order to keep this small to moderate gain, you would have to hang weights from your penis to stretch it for six months
- A dermal implant, which was originally done by taking fat from elsewhere in the body and implanting it into the penis. In most cases, the penis would absorb the fat and the penis would wind up looking lumpy. The newer version is implanted allograft tissue. Which is tissue frequently used in reconstructive surgery. And it's harvested from cadavers.
And then you have to keep in mind that not everyone is satisfied with their results after penile surgery. The penis could get infected because of the surgery. The surgery can also cause damage to the tissue and nerves in the penis, and can sometimes impair penis function.
If you're still alright with the idea of surgery for penis enlargement, then there's the cost to think about. For the ligament surgery, it can cost anywhere from $5000 to $10000. The allograft tissue alone can cost from $5000 to $7000, and then with the costs of surgery on top of that, it can cost up to $20000. All that money for something that can hurt you, and won't necessarily give you the results you're after, doesn't really seem worth it. Especially when you can purchase something that has been clinically proven to work, like an extender, for a very small fraction of that price.
