There are a variety of different benefits you can expect to experience and discover when you begin a meditation practice. Quite a few are mental, while others are emotional or more spiritual in nature and believe it or not practicing mediation on a daily basis will lead to some physical well-being benefits as well.
Yet, the truth of the matter is all of the benefits that you experience with meditation are directly elated to the dramatic increase in awareness that is created by meditating. The more often you connect with your inner state of being through the practice of meditation the more aware you become of many things (both internal and external) that you have been doing on unconscious level well outside your awareness.
Quite often without our even realizing it much of what we create in life happens at an unconscious level of awareness. This unconscious "reality" is directly related to how we feel in each moment, how we behave, and which people and situations that we attract into or out of our lives.
If all of that wasn't enough, how you feel, how you behave, and what you attract or are attracted to make up the vast majority of your life experiences. In other words, for the most part your experiences in life are happening at an unconscious level and they will continue to happen without your being able to do anything about it until you make some kind of shift or change in your life.
Surprisingly enough, beginning a daily practice of meditation is the exact shift or change that you can make in your life in order to bring those unconscious patterns into your conscious awareness and begin to make empowering choices and decisions.
Right now, in this moment you have the opportunity to let go of many of the unconscious patterns and habits that have been sabotaging your life and limiting you in your ability to lead the most extraordinary of extraordinary lives. You can begin that process now, by taking a deep conscious breath in and exhaling out all that no longer serves you in this moment.
